Vincente David Montano (Nashville movie theater attack, 2015) – injured three people when he entered into a screening of the film “Mad Max: Fury Road” at a theater in southern Nashville August 6, 2015. Montano, 29, was armed with pepper spray, a hatchet, and a pellet gun, as well as a backpack containing a lighter, lighter fluid and a canister of propane. Police fired more than 100 shots, killing Montano, who was reportedly homeless and had a history of mental illness. Montano had been committed to a mental-health institution at least four times over the past 11 years. His mother told police in 2004 that she could no longer deal with her son’s “mental instability,” adding that he was schizophrenic and would not take his medication.
