Kip Kinkel (Thurston High School shooting, 1998) – shot and killed his mother and father before loading his backpack with ammunition and three guns as he headed to Thurston High School in Springfield, Oregon on May 21, 1998, killing two students and wounding 25 others. Kinkle, 15, was wrestled to the ground and kept there by five students until police arrived. Suffering from depression, Kinkle began taking 20 milligrams of Prozac in 1997 before quitting the drug after three months. Some reports say he was also taking Ritalin.
