



James Wilson (Oakland Elementary School shooting, 1988) – opened fire at Oakland Elementary School in Greenwood, South Carolina where he killed two young girls and wounded 9 others on September 26, 1988. Wilson, 19-years-old at the time of the shooting, was admitted to a psychiatric ward at least three times during an eight month period leading up to the shooting. The teen’s father said he liked going to the hospital because they gave him drugs. Wilson was taking anti-depressants up until two months before the brutal attack, according to his father.
