Cho Seung-Hui (Virginia Tech shooting, 2007) – fatally shot 29 students and five teachers at Virginia Tech before turning the gun on himself April 16, 2007 in Blacksburg, Virginia. The 23-year-old South Korean native was accused twice of stalking female students in 2005 and later hospitalized at a psychiatric hospital that same year after making suicidal statements to a suite mate.

A Freedom of Information Request for Seung-Hui’s toxicology and autopsy reports were denied by the Virginia Medical Examiner’s office. However, mental health records reveal Seung-Hui suffered from depression, panic episodes and “self-destructive behavior,” as well as the inability to interact with friends, family and classmates. It remains unclear which medications Seung-Hui was on, but some reports indicate he was taking Prozac prior to his rampage. It’s been confirmed that Seung-Hui was in fact treated for anxiety disorder as a young adult.
