Mohamed Merah (Toulouse shooting, 2012) – methodically gunned down and killed three Jewish schoolchildren, a rabbi and three paratroopers in Toulouse, France on March 11, 2012. Merah, a 23-year-old Frenchman of Algerian descent, was reportedly inspired by radical Islam and trained in Afghanistan. Merah had been prescribed psychotropic drugs and sleep aids “to calm his stress.”
