Barry Loukaitis (Frontier Middle School shooting, 1996) – walked into Frontier Middle School in Moses Lake, Washington, fatally shooting his algebra teacher, two students and wounding one other on February 2, 1996. A few weeks before the shooting, Loukaitis’ mother filed for divorce and announced plans to kill herself in front of her husband and his suspected lover, forcing 14-year-old Barry to console her. Sent into a depression, the teen was prescribed the anti-psychotic drug lithium. After the shooting, Barry was diagnosed with bipolar personality disorder by psychiatrist Julia Moore; however, other experts rebuked that claim insisting the boy was too young to be bipolar. Barry was sentenced to two life sentences and an additional 205 years in prison.
